Post mock thoughts:

1. I am not sold that Cleveland will take Geno Smith with the 6th overall pick. The latest buzz out of Cleveland is that the new regime views Smith as their Donovan McNabb.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the Browns to try to trade down and draft Dee Milliner later in the first round.

2. I think Buffalo is a real wildcard in the first round. They have glaring needs at both quarterback and wide receiver. I think they could end up with either Geno Smith (if he falls there), Ryan Nassib, or wide out  Tavon Austin.

3. There are a few teams that could use another running back (St. Louis, Green Bay, Cincinnati, etc), but I don’t see a team taking one in the 1st round. I think Eddie Lacy will be the first off the board, likely taken in the early to middle part of round 2.

4. I originally projected Star Lotueleli and Sheldon Richardson to be taken within the first 15 selections. I dropped them down after revisiting team needs and decided that franchises may look past them to fill needs. That said I could see Lotueleli going to Sand Diego at 11 and Richardson being selected by Carolina at 14.

5. This class is unique in that most of the top talent seems to be found “in the trenches”. While there are some skill players a lot of the depth is on the line on both sides of the ball. This should make for a very interesting draft to say the least.
